The American Banjo Museum is the only established facility in the world devoted exclusively to the collection and conservation of the instruments, recordings, film, video, printed music, instructional materials, ephemera and memorabilia associated with the four-string banjo.
The Museum is currently home to nearly 100 ornately decorated banjos from both the 1920s and 30s as well as contemporary luthiers who continue the traditions of Jazz Age banjo design and manufacture.
Those interested in banjo history have access to the Museum's expansive collection of audio and video recordings, photos and ephemera, as well as printed music and instructional publications.
The Museum is also a repository for individual banjo related histories, stories, anecdotes, remembrances, etc. to ultimately be included in a "Living History" project.
