This Vintage B&D; No. 1 , 4 String Tenor Banjo comes from the New Orleans area.
It is in "excellent plus original condition" as stated by the appraiser and owner of Mass. Street Music, in Lawrence, Kansas, a Vintage Instrument Shop. Its appraised at $1600.
It's had a "tune up" ...pun intended.... with New Gears (the original gears are included with the purchase of this instrument), It has a New Head, It's Cleaned and Polished, and Set Up Ready to Play. It has Nickel plated hardware.
Circa probably 1920's. The serial number on the rim matches that on the neck dowel. The finish on the wood is in immaculate shape.
It has a Clear, Crisp Brillant Sound. The Action is nicely placed to be able to play for the "beginner", as well as a seasoned professional who can play Tenor Banjo Finger Busters like the Harry Reser Tenor Banjo Rags, as well as Ragtime and Dixieland Jazz.

Gold plated parts which show some wear. good build quality, twin co-rods, flathead tone ring, one piece flange, bow tie inlays on fretboard. resonator with small inlay in centre. Price �350
