my grandfather passed away two and half years ago.he played the fiddle and banjo.i was wandering about this banjo he has.i know nothing about it.its called a remo weather king with a washington head.its also 4 strings.

I purchased the same banjo, a Remo Weather King, at a yard sale recently. I haven't been able to find much info. It appears to be quite old. Have you found anything more about it?

Washington is a name, not a brand. Most likely a 1920's Slingerland, or Lyaon Healy. They made 10's of thousands of these kind of banjos, with many different names. REMO is only the name of the head. What you are calling the head, is the peghead. Vinnie
