Hi -- I have an old Vega 4-string banjo in its case. I just had it put back together and put a new head on it and don't know what it might be worth. It's been in my family since the early 1900's. I'd just like to get more information on this instrument if anyone can help.
It says "Vega" on the top with some nice inlay work. It says "Vegaphone Professional" at the bottom on a silver-metal piece with a star on it. It has a wooden back. Thanks!

Hi Carol: What a nice heirloom! Do you know who in your family actually played it? For value on your Vega Banjo, you can get a fair estimated value from the following vintage instrument dealers.

Hello,
You have one of the nicest banjos ever made. This model was regarded as "The" banjo of the jazz age. Prices vary but a good honest example should make$1000.
Maybe you could send me some photo's.
Regards Kevin
