I have an old banjo type instrument known to be called a Linbanjo and/or a banjolin. Thought to be made late 19th century , early 1900's. Bottom end appears as regular banjo with the neck being a mandelin. Can anybody provide me with any info. on this?

A Banjolin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY kind fretted string instrument that you could imagine was built and played, no matter how improbably difficult or impossibly designed. The Banjolin was among those experiments, and one that had an enthusiastic following, for a while. Even Eddie Peabody invented an instrument he called the "Banjorine". The Banjolin found a brief home in dance orchestras. John

A friend of mine has asked for my help in selling his Gibson banjolin. I've not had it appraised yet, but it appears to be in original condition from the 30's, possibly earlier. Any idea of the value? Any guesses as to who might want one of these?

TIA,

Mark
