Hello everyone,
I am writting because I recieved a tenor banjo from my grandmother, she bought it many years ago from her mothers cousin. The only writting it has on it is "princess" on the support that goes through the rim and attached to the neck. There is no other writting on it. It doesn't look like anything fancy, it has a natural hide head and the rim and back look like birds eye maple. I'm just curious to see if anybody might have any info on it. Also it came with a beginner instruction book "Smith's modern school instructor tenor banjo" copywright 1936.If that helps. Thanks for your time.

Mark,
Don't get rid of it! I have a friend who has an old little tenor banjo which he appraised at Elderly Instruments in NY and they told him it was worth in the neighborhood of $5,000. I'd check with them or some other good appraiser.
